Terminology and/or Methodology
In IMAGE Focus 5.0, a number of new terms and/or methods are used to display and/or create the various panels, menus and screens of the user interface and Inspection Reports. Users are encouraged to develop a working familiarity with all IMAGE Focus terms and/or methods.
Functional Enhancements
In this release, the shift in emphasis from the Image to the Sysplex as the primary target of auto-discovery and inspection has resulted in numerous changes to the Production and Workbench Views. The Recovery View remains unchanged from prior releases.
Accessing the Report Cluster
Beginning with this release, all Inspection Reports for a named Sysplex and its Image(s) are stored in a single dataset called an Inspection Report Cluster. Each Cluster will include the Sysplex Inspection Report, the IMAGE Inspection Report and each of its elements – Opsys, JES, VTAM, TCPIP and Custom Inspections – for each related Image. Users currently or planning to post-process IMAGE Focus Inspection Reports will want to use the newly supplied function calls. Inspection Report Clusters created by The Monitor will also contain an additional segment, the Monitor Audit Log. Inspection Reports created with prior releases are full compatible with this release.
