1 - SUPPORT FOR z/OS 1.4 ADDED TO THE OPSYS INSPECTOR
- New keywords in BPXPRMxx
- IEASYMxx can now have up to 800 symbols defined
- IEASYSxx z/OSe keyword support
2 - ENHANCED OPSYS INSPECTION AND JCL CHECKING
BPXPRMxx JCL checking of tasks started by the ASNAME keyword in BPXPRMxx now have the JCL checked as if
it were started by
COMMNDxx.
3 - SUBSYSTEM INSPECTORS ENHANCED
- JES2 Inspector is updated to provide support for V1R4.
- JES3 Inspector is updated to provide support for V1R4.
- VTAM Inspector is updated to provide support for V1R4.
- TCP/IP PROFILE Inspector is updated to provide support for V1R4.
- TCP/IP RESOLVER and .DATA Inspectors are updated to provide support for V1R4.
4 - REXX/CLIST INSPECTOR ADDED
The REXX/Clist Inspector was adapted from a REXX Code Base provided to NewEra by Mr. Morris D. Fried. This base code called ‘SYNCHECK’ was developed by Mr. Fried to check to syntax of AF/OPERator CLISTs and REXX
EXECs.
5 - PACKAGE COMPARE HAS BEEN ENHANCED
Packages of different images can now be compared.
6 - CUSTOM INSPECTOR INTERFACE ENHANCED
- The parm field from the JCL is now passed to the
inspector.
- An “Include member from the system parmlib concatenation” function has been
added.
7 - IMAGE FOCUS RELEASE MIGRATION TOOLS ADDED
The migration tool will be used to copy Image Focus customized data from IFO 4.3 to IFO 4.5. This tool will not support releases older than IFO 4.3. This tool will offer continued support for migration of future releases (4.5 to 5.0, etc.).
The migration tool will be added as an optional step in the installation process of IFO 4.5 to migrate the Background Image Focus data and the Foreground Image Focus data (single user mode installations).
For installations using Image Focus in multi-user mode, a function will be added to the Image Focus Primary Menu to do the migration of the individual Image Focus user data tables.
All users must do the migration of their own data using the menu
option.
8 - BACKGROUND INTERVAL >24 HOURS
The Background Task Interval maximum will be expanded from a maximum of 24 hours to a maximum of
99 days. The format will be changed from HH:MM to DD:HH:MM, where DD is a value from 00 to 99 days.
9 - BACKGROUND MAIL OPTION
Currently when a background report is to be sent via mail, the report level is changed to report level
1 and the member display is changed to Y. After the report has been generated the report level and member display values are restored to the customers settings. This was done to make sure reports sent to NewEra support contained all of the information needed to correct customer problems.
Customers that mail reports to their own internal destinations may not require, nor want, full reports. A new option will be added to the BG, background options, to turn off the override of the report level and member display to allow the customer settings to be used.
10 - INSPECTION STATUS INDICATION
IMAGE Focus 4.5 has a method to show the progress of a foreground Image Inspection.
11 - NOTICES ON INDEXED REPORT
Currently the Indexed Report shows OK, Warnings, and Errors. Notices will be added.
12 - SUMMARY REPORT
This report shows each member that was specified by a keyword in an IEASYSxx member or was read by default. The
SPEC.BY (specified by) column shows which IEASYSxx member was used to determine the suffix. The volume, dataset name, and relative concatenation number are listed to show where the member came from.
Counts of Notices, Warnings, and Errors are shown for each member with a total for all members at the end.
13 - REPORT/SCREEN IDENTIFICATION
When a selection is made from the index report and the report is opened,
the member name at
the top of the screen is retained to identify which member is being viewed.
14 - DATASET REPORT ADDED TO PACKET
IFO 45 adds the dataset report information to the packet file so that changes in the size or location of the dataset can be monitored.
15 - REPORT MANAGEMENT
IFO 45 adds the function to automatically delete IMAGE Focus Reports, by report type, when report count exceeds a specified
number. Functions in foreground and background. In addition, new Package
Management to control the maximum number of Packages saved per Image has been added.
16 - FULL INTEGRATION WITH IMAGE BUILDER
Adds the function to allow the use of 'IB' as a selection criteria within the Image and Sysplex Report Selections Panels. This action invokes IMAGE Builder which, if installed, will full-integrate into the IMAGE Focus environment.

17 - VIEW OPTION ADDED TO THE BACKGROUND IMAGE SELECTION PANEL
The View Option has been added to the Background Image Selection Panel so that users can display the definitions of the images that have been added to the Background Task.
18 - COUPLE DATA SETS ADDED TO THE DATASET REPORT
